Professional Training in Clinical Hypnosis
Hypnotherapy is currently on the crest of a wave, being widely accepted as a credible complementary health system that can be used successfully to treat a wide variety of emotional, physical and behavioural issues. The growth in demand for Hypnotherapy means that there are opportunities on both a full-time and a part-time basis for caring individuals who wish to earn a high level of income in an interesting and immensely rewarding profession.
Our training is designed to give you all you need – knowledge, experience and confidence – in order to be able to set up as a practicing Hypnotherapist upon completion of the course.
Taking place over a total of 15 days in the UK and 16 days in Norway, (together with live webinars between each module) a combination of presentation, discussion, demonstration and practical exercises are used with participants being encouraged to practice their new skills with friends and family in between the training sessions as well as complete a small amount of academic learning to enhance their knowledge.
Participants receive complete scripts, training notes and support material in the form of a substantial manual of scripts, and upon the successful completion of the course, a Diploma to certify your competence to practice as a Hypnotherapist. Ongoing support for the newly-qualified therapist is available from us – if you need help or advice in your early days’ just ask!
An enormously wide variety of skills and techniques are taught on the course ranging from a complete background to hypnosis and its uses to practical methods for working with many issues presented by clients in the Consulting Room. At the end of the course you will be able to help people stop smoking and lose weight; eliminate fears, phobias and anxiety states; regress back into childhood and Past Lives to eradicate traumas from the past; teach Self-Hypnosis ; alleviate pain ; strengthen self-confidence ; utilise Stress Management techniques; and much more.
You will be able to guide clients into trance using many trance inductions and have a substantial understanding of the nature of a good deal of the issues you are helping clients to overcome. In short, you will be ready and able to embark upon the exciting journey of being a professional Therapist.
Upon certification you will be recommended for membership of the General Hypnotherapy Register, currently one of the largest and most prestigious associations in the UK.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Further training courses in more advanced aspects of hypnotherapy take place each year, enabling you to continue to advance your abilities as a therapist.
The Uses of Hypnosis
Clinical Hypnosis (or Hypnotherapy – the terms are synonymous) refers to the use of hypnosis which is a wholly natural and beneficial state of relaxation during which the deep, inner mind (or sub-conscious mind) is accessed to affect positive changes. It can not only be used to alleviate symptoms but often to also uncover the cause of the problem which can then be released, thus ensuring a permanent cure.
It has been said that if it could be bottled it would be mankind’s wonder drug as it can be used to treat an extra-ordinarily wide range of issues, from phobias and anxieties, smoking and over-eating, to pain and physical illness, lack of confidence and depression (to name just a few).
Over the last decade Hypnotherapy has become recognised, both by the general public and the medical profession as being of considerable value alongside orthodox medical treatment and more often as a natural alternative to it. GP’s are often referring patients directly to Hypnotherapists who, in some cases, are practising from within a medical centre. Illnesses which are of an emotional and psychosomatic nature (which probably accounts for the vast majority of illness) are usually more effectively dealt with by gentle intervention therapy rather than by the administering of drugs.
Whereas about a decade ago Hypnotherapy was still considered an ‘alternative’ therapy (with all of the negative connotations that that phrase conjures up) it has now risen to being considered by most people as a credible ‘complementary’ therapy which succeeds in the majority of cases. It is featured regularly in the media and such publicity, together with the hard work of a host of dedicated Hypnotherapists around the country willing to publicise the benefits of using hypnosis, has enabled the use of hypnosis to become almost a mainstream approach to healing emotionally-based problems.
As well as the above, the growth of Spirituality in the West and the opening up of mankind’s consciousness at a higher level of vibration has led many people to seek the benefits of Past Life Regression and Reincarnation Therapy to heal issues which have troubled them throughout their lives. This immensely deep form of therapy is fascinating to the general public and has also received much beneficial publicity.
Because of the rapid growth in the use of Hypnotherapy in recent years many Hypnotherapists are running very busy private practices either full or part-time, with all of the financial benefits brought by such success.

The training takes place over several modules each separated by a month. This gives students the opportunity to practice the techniques learnt during each module on friends and family prior to the subsequent module of the course, with each module consisting of more advanced therapeutic techniques.
Our teaching style is immensely practical. This means that students not only have live demonstrations of techniques but also time and support to practice with other members of the group. We have found over the years that this is the finest way to learn. Theory is also included, of course, but the emphasis is on producing competent practitioners of the art of Hypnotherapy who can work effectively with clients on a professional basis. Class numbers are limited to provide a more intensive and personal learning experience.
Our students learn great flexibility which means that professionally they will be able to work with most of the obstacles that may occur whilst working with clients. Unlike many other Hypnotherapy Training Schools which offer a few rigid and simplistic therapy processes (ie simply teaching the inefficient concept of simply reading scripts at people whilst they are in trance), we provide a ‘learning-by-doing’ programme that goes deeper into the art of therapy than most other courses. This is not just a theory-lecture course and we equip our graduates with a considerable range of practical therapy skills.
Who Should Attend?
The course has been designed to be of particular relevance to those intending to become a practising Hypnotherapist as well as anyone in the caring professions wishing to expand their therapeutic horizons (previous courses have been attended by doctors, psychologists and counsellors). The course will also be of interest to anyone fascinated by the fields of Human Potential and Personal Development. Whilst an academic qualification in psychology or life science may be an advantage, we regard it as only a small part of the learning curve to becoming a competent Hypnotherapist. We take the view that a person’s desire to be a ‘people helper’ is more important than a particular academic background. We feel that the urge to work openheartedly to help other people let go of problems which are preventing them from realising their full potential is one of the primary starting points for becoming a successful therapist. Compassion for others is more important than intellectual knowledge.
The course is, therefore, open to all those who have a genuine interest in Hypnotherapy even though they may not have any accredited prior learning. We may, at our discretion, invite prospective students to an informal interview before accepting them on the course.
Men and women make equally good Hypnotherapists. Usually we prefer not to teach people under the age of 20 as they are less likely to succeed in the profession due to the fact that older people often have less trust in the abilities of younger people and tend to look askance when they turn up for an appointment and are confronted with one so young. Also the University of
Life is a great teacher and someone with a deeper knowledge of life’s experience is more likely to understand clients and their problems more easily and wisely.
There is enormous scope for everyone and some of the most wonderful, caring and intuitive and inventive therapists come from seemingly unrelated fields: commerce, housewives, industry and the armed forces to name just a few. Many find that for them the training course is a rich journey of self-discovery and they obtain a great thrill and satisfaction in finding hidden inner resources for therapeutic healing that are just waiting for discovery and development.
The course is registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register. On successful completion of the course you will be able to join the GHR as an Affiliate Member. Completion of the course also allows you to become fully professionally insured.

Why Choose Us?
The Course offers a good, solid grounding in the art of Hypnotherapy and provides enough information and practical experience to get you started as a Hypnotherapist.
Unlike some other courses which are often not worth the paper they are printed on our course has real credibility due to the fact that I have ‘learnt my craft’ as a Therapist in many thousands of therapy sessions with clients over 25 years of running a practice.
I am acknowledged as being one of the most experienced Hypnotherapists in the world and our emphasis is on turning out Therapists who are able, confident in their abilities, and flexible.
Unfortunately, some courses are often run by individuals with little practical experience as a Therapist and whose motives are solely financial. There are those which offer a ‘fast track’ training and pretend that by doing just a few days of simple (usually quite insipid) training, you can learn all that you ever need to know about the vast and constantly changing world of hypnosis and that you will immediately earn a fortune with hardly any effort.
The reality is, I’m afraid usually quite a different affair. Becoming a Hypnotherapist is a demanding process and although the financial rewards can be high, one needs the ‘tools’ to achieve success. These ‘tools’ come in the form of therapy techniques and the compassionate desire to help one’s fellow man.
Our course provides the former, only your heart can provide the latter.
Continuing Professional Development is a vital aspect of being a credible Therapist and please beware of any courses which come with a ‘get rich quick’ underlying agenda.
