I first became involved with hypnosis in the late 1980’s when my father successfully gave up smoking using hypnotherapy. I began practising privately in 1992 having trained firstly with the President of the Institute of Curative Hypnotherapists and then with Wilf Proudfoot of the Proudfoot School of Hypnosis.
A success story…
Initially working almost exclusively with smokers, I had such success helping them to become smoke-free that I rapidly began to expand my therapeutic portfolio and I am now recognised as one of the country’s most successful and experienced clinical hypnotists, treating a wide range of conditions. I have completed over 14,000 one-to-one therapy sessions and receive many recommendations from satisfied ex-clients and GP’s referrals.
Over the years I have undertaken hundreds of hours of Continual Professional Development training in specialised aspects of therapy, particularly at the Proudfoot School of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy and also at the London College of Clinical Hypnosis. I have also trained with some of the leading personalities in the therapy world, including Ernest Rossi, Carol Sommer, Gary Craig (the creator of EFT) and Steve Andreas (one of the creators of NLP).I am an advanced EFT practitioner and a certified N.L.P. (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) practitioner. I have also had specialist training in treating Irritable Bowel Syndrome, a condition which responds very favourably to hypnotherapy.
I have written a book on the subject of past life regression, ‘Famous Past Lives’, published by O Books. My second book on the subject is currently with a Literary Agent prior to being published.
Of particular interest to me are some areas of specialisation – overcoming phobias and anxiety states, natural childbirth, healing the wounds of childhood abuse, pain control, releasing traumas, enhancing sports performance and Past Life Regression. As a stress management consultant, I work privately with individuals or groups providing a comprehensive programme of stress control and I also have experience in using hypnosis in surgery.
I became a member of the British Council of Hypnotist Examiners in 1992 and soon afterwards was granted professional membership of the California based Association for Past Life Research and Therapy Inc.
I have been regularly featured on BBC local radio, in local newspapers and other national publications, have often given talks on the curative powers of hypnosis to local doctors and I am a well-known speaker on subjects of hypnosis and Past Life Therapy. I have also appeared on GMTV, Yorkshire TV and Sky 1 TV and my success in treating smokers has been featured on national radio.
I am director of my own training organisation, Lionheart Training, providing hypnotherapy training to therapists, psychologists, GPs and health practitioners. In Norway my Hypnotherapy training school runs courses in Trondheim.
I am also a regular guest presenter in Norway and the UK for a host of hypnotherapy training organisations and have run courses and seminars for the Proudfoot School of Hypnosis, Northern College of Clinical Hypnosis, Dominic Beirne School of Hypnosis, Stress Management Scotland, Soothsayer Foundation, the National Council for Hypnotherapy, Survivors Counselling Service, the Wakefield School of Hypnosis, the UKGHE, the Berne Institute.
I have presented papers to the Annual Conferences of the National Council for Hypnotherapy and the UK Guild of Hypnotist Examiners (of which I am a former Vice-Chairman) and I am an after-dinner speaker on the subjects of Hypnosis and Past Life Regression. I am a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register.
